About Me
Welcome to my portfolio. My Name is Neo Chala. I was born in Naledi, Soweto in 1999. I have been fortunate enough to have experienced the township and suburban lifestyles, with that in mind it is a fair statement to say i was born and bred in Soweto, perfected in Johannesburg.
My background has exposed to people from all walks of life in so doing has made me open-minded and interested in learning about others and culture.
My exposure to the world has created a deep love for culture, conversation and education, therefore inspiring me to become a teacher. This decision comes from wanting to become and agent of change by educating others about cultural differences to create understanding and invoke critical conversations. I am a firm believer in the ideology of education as a means for change and social justice.
In addition to this i am also very passionate about business. I love the idea of providing a service and being able to support myself and my family.
I completed my high school education at Roosevelt High School in 2016. I am fluent in English, Sesotho, Setswana and in isiZulu, and competent in Afrikaans and TshiVenda. Currently I am a student from the University of Johannesburg. I am specializing in School ICT support and English home language. These fields of study are key in preparing learners to be agents of transformation as ICT ensures that they are well equipped for the 21st century work environment and English literature can be used to raise cultural awareness, societal issues and critical conversations.

I was a call center agent for a year working for Merchants S.A. During that time i served under a team of 12 people dealing with Post paid Cell C contract holders .

I worked at a hair salon primarily as a receptionist. This job entailed the handling of payments, stock and managing the hairstylists. On occasion when the salon is busy I was expected to be doing hair to relieve the workload off the hairstylists.
